When you visit our website https://www.readkidz.com (the “Website”), and more broadly, use any of our services (the “Services”, which include the Website), we appreciate that you are trusting us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy statement, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this privacy statement that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.

This privacy statement applies to all information collected through our Services (which, as described above, includes our Website), as well as any related services, sales, marketing, or events.

Please read this privacy statement carefully as it will help you understand what we do with the information that we collect.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

1) Personal Information You Disclose to Us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Website, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Website, or otherwise when you contact us.

The personal information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Website, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

• Personal Information Provided by You. We collect email addresses, usernames, and other similar information.
• Payment Data. We process order details, purchase history, amounts, payment status, and transaction identifiers to manage purchases and refunds. Payment details needed at checkout are handled by the payment provider offered for that transaction, which may include Stripe, PayPal, or Oceanpayment. Their notices are available at Stripe, PayPal, and Oceanpayment.
• Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register using existing social media account details, like your Facebook, Google, or other social media accounts. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect the information described in the section called “How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?” below.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

2) Information Automatically Collected

In Short: Some information – such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our Website.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Website. This information may identify a device or be linked to an account, and may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Website, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. The information we collect includes:

• Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Website and which we record in log files. Depending on how you interact with us, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type and settings, and information about your activity on the Website (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches, and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called “crash dumps”)).
• Browser Data. We collect browser data such as the type of browser you are using to access the Website, your IP, operating system, browser memory, cookies information, etc.
• Location Data. We may infer approximate location, such as country or region, from IP addresses or request metadata for service operation, security, analytics, and localization. This is different from accessing precise device GPS coordinates. Location information may also be included in content you choose to upload.

3) Creative Inputs and AI Processing

In Short: The prompts, story text, and images you provide to our creation tools are used to generate the content you request, with the help of third-party AI service providers.

When you use our AI creation features, we process prompts, story text, reference images, other supported media, and your edits to produce the requested output. Processing may include sending text, media files, or file URLs to AI model providers through service intermediaries or gateways. The providers used can vary by feature, selected model, availability, and routing; a model name shown in the interface does not necessarily identify every intermediary that handles the request.

We do not use your creative inputs or finished creations to train AI models of our own. This statement is limited to our own model training: it is not a promise that every third-party provider uses zero retention or identical training restrictions. Provider retention, security review, and any use for model improvement depend on the applicable service terms, contracts, and settings. Contact help@readkidz.com for information about processing for a particular feature before submitting sensitive material. Do not upload personal information about others without the necessary authority.

We store your creations with your account to support editing and export, subject to the retention rules in Section 6. Publishing or sharing content makes it available to the audience you select; third-party processing needed to create or store it is separate from publication.

2. How Do We Use Your Information?

In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.

We use personal information collected via our Website for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations. We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.

We use the information we collect or receive to:

1. Facilitate account creation and login process. If you choose to link your account with us to a third-party account (such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate account creation and login process for the performance of the contract. See the section below headed “How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?” for further information.
2. Post testimonials. We post testimonials on our Website that may contain personal information. Prior to posting a testimonial, we will obtain your consent to use your name and the content of the testimonial. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, please contact us at help@readkidz.com and be sure to include your name, testimonial location, and contact information.
3. Request feedback. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Website.
4. Enable user-to-user communications. We may use your information in order to enable user-to-user communications with each user’s consent.
5. Manage user accounts. We may use your information to manage our account and keep it in working order.
6. Send administrative information to you. We may use your personal information to send you product, service, and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
7. Protect our Services. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our Website safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
8. Enforce our terms, conditions, and policies for business purposes, to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, or in connection with our contract.
9. Respond to legal requests and prevent harm. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond.
10. Fulfill and manage your orders. We may use your information to fulfill and manage your orders, payments, returns, and exchanges made through the Website.
11. Administer prize draws and competitions. We may use your information to administer prize draws and competitions when you elect to participate in our competitions.
12. Deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We may use your information to provide you with the requested service.
13. Respond to user inquiries/offer support to users. We may use your information to respond to your inquiries and solve any potential issues you might have with the use of our Services.

We also use account, device, and activity information to understand how people use the Services, troubleshoot problems, measure advertising and conversions, and improve campaigns. Section 4 describes the relevant technologies and third parties. Where consent or an opt-out is required by applicable law, those requirements apply; accepting the Terms is not a substitute for any separate consent required.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared with Anyone?

In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

We may process or share your data that we hold based on the following legal bases:

1. Consent: We may process your data if you have given us specific consent to use your personal information for a specific purpose.
2. Legitimate Interests: We may process your data when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests.
3. Performance of a Contract: Where we have entered into a contract with you, we may process your personal information to fulfill the terms of our contract.

Vital Interests: We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

More specifically, we may need to process your data or share your personal information in the following situations:

• Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
• Service providers. Hosting, storage, content-delivery, support, security, payment, and AI processing providers receive information needed for the relevant service. AI processing can involve both an intermediary and an underlying model provider, as described in Section 1.
• Analytics and advertising partners. Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta, and Microsoft Clarity may receive identifiers, device and network information, page interactions, and conversion information on the pages where their integrations operate. Some integrations also receive account identifiers or email addresses for measurement, matching, or troubleshooting. See Section 4 for details and choices.

Information may be processed by us and our providers outside your country, including in the United States and other countries where the relevant providers operate. Privacy laws can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard or other legal mechanism, that requirement applies. 4. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?

In Short: We use cookies, browser storage, pixels, and similar tools for service operation, analytics, and advertising measurement. This section explains those uses and available choices.

Our Services use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies. Their use varies by page, feature, region, browser settings, and the third-party integrations involved:

• Service operation and preferences: maintain sessions, protect accounts, remember language or interface settings, and support checkout or payment flows.
• Usage analytics and diagnostics: our own event logs, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity help us understand page visits, interactions, errors, and usage patterns. Clarity supports interaction analysis, including session replay and heatmaps. On supported signed-in pages, account identifiers and email may be supplied to Clarity to associate activity with an account.
• Advertising and conversion measurement: Google Ads and Meta Pixel receive visit, registration, checkout, or purchase events, including transaction values where relevant. Some Google integrations use email for enhanced-conversion matching. These uses can link activity to a browser or account and must not be assumed to be anonymous merely because an identifier is hashed.

Google's regional consent-mode settings can limit storage or advertising uses, but do not mean that all measurement requests stop. Settings for Google do not automatically control Meta, Clarity, or our own event logs. You can use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking essential storage may prevent login, saved preferences, or checkout from working. Cookie settings alone may not stop all server-side records or cookieless measurement. Provider account privacy settings can offer additional controls over advertising or analytics; their scope depends on the provider.

To make an applicable privacy request, including an objection to targeted advertising or an opt-out of sale or sharing, contact help@readkidz.com. Include enough information to identify the account or browser involved, but do not send passwords or payment-card details. These contact and browser options do not replace any separate consent, opt-out interface, or recognition of opt-out preference signals required by applicable law.

5. How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?

In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.

Our Website offers login through supported third-party providers, such as Google. Depending on the provider and permissions used, we receive account identifiers and basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile picture. The information received depends on the login method and permissions presented by the provider; this does not mean we obtain your friends list or all information you make public on that platform.

We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy statement or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Website. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. We recommend that you review their privacy statement to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.

6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy statement unless otherwise required by law.

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice and as required by applicable law. Retention depends on the type of information and why we need it:

• Account details and personal information in stored creative content are retained as needed to provide the Services, subject to deletion requests and applicable legal requirements.
• Transaction, billing, tax, and accounting records may need to be retained after account closure for applicable legal recordkeeping periods.
• Limited records may be retained after account closure where necessary and lawful to prevent fraud, investigate specific incidents, resolve disputes, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. This is not a basis to retain all account information indefinitely.

We assess retention by the purpose, sensitivity, and legal requirements that apply to the information. Account closure does not automatically erase records we must lawfully retain, but those records remain subject to the limits described here.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, the transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk. You should only access the Website within a secure environment.

8. Do We Collect Information from Minors?

In Short: Account holders must be at least 18. Children may use the Services only through a parent or legal guardian's account and under that adult's supervision.

Children under 18 may not register for or hold independent accounts. A parent or legal guardian who holds an account may supervise a child's use of the Services and remains responsible for that account. Information submitted during supervised use may include a child's story ideas, drawings, or other personal information. The fact that an adult holds the account does not change whether information relates to a child or remove any protections required by applicable law.

Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing a child's personal information, that consent is required in addition to ordinary account registration or agreement to these Terms. Supervision or use of a parent's login alone must not be treated as satisfying that requirement.

Parents or legal guardians may review and delete content stored under their account and may contact help@readkidz.com to request access to or deletion of associated information. If you believe a child has registered independently or personal information has been collected without consent required by law, please contact us at that address. We will investigate and take appropriate steps, including restricting the affected account or processing and deleting information collected without required consent, subject to applicable legal requirements.

9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom (UK), you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.

In some regions (like the EEA and UK), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. To make such a request, please use the contact details provided below. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note however that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Account Information

If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:

• Log into your account settings and update your user account.
• Contact us using the contact information provided.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete the account and handle deletion of personal information from our active systems in accordance with applicable law. Information that must or may lawfully be retained, including limited billing, legal, or fraud-prevention records, is subject to the purposes and limits in Section 6. Backup copies are handled as described in that section. Account closure does not remove any applicable right to request deletion or to receive an explanation of a lawful retention exception.

Cookies and similar technologies: Most Web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove cookies and to reject cookies. If you choose to remove cookies or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services of our Website.

Opting out of email marketing: You can unsubscribe from our marketing email list at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us using the details provided below. You will then be removed from the marketing email list – however, we may still communicate with you, for example to send you service-related emails that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes. To opt-out, you can:

• Access your account settings and update your preferences.

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Some browsers offer a legacy Do-Not-Track (DNT) setting. We do not respond to that legacy signal. DNT is distinct from legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC). Applicable requirements concerning those signals are not excluded by this statement. 11. Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below.

If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with the Website, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Website. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. We will ensure the data is not publicly displayed on the Website, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from all our systems (e.g., backups, etc.).

This notice of removal rights does not permit minors to register for or hold independent accounts. The adult-account requirement in our Terms of Service does not remove a minor's applicable privacy or removal rights, including where information arose from supervised use or an account created contrary to that requirement. CCPA Privacy Notice

The California Code of Regulations defines a “resident” as:

1. Every individual who is in the State of California for other than a temporary or transitory purpose and
2. Every individual who is domiciled in the State of California who is outside the State of California for a temporary or transitory purpose

All other individuals are defined as “non-residents.”

The categories of personal information processed through our Services are described below. The information involved depends on the features you use and what you submit. A category appearing in user-provided content does not mean we request every type of information in that category.

Biometric information	Uploaded media may depict a face or contain a voice. That is distinct from creating a biometric identifier to identify a person; this table does not assert that such identification is performed.
Internet or other network activity	Page visits, feature interactions, referring URLs, campaign identifiers, device information, diagnostic logs, and conversion events.
Geolocation data	Approximate country or region inferred from IP or request metadata; location information may also appear in submitted content.
Audio, electronic, visual, and similar information	Reference images, supported audio or video, creative inputs and outputs, and media supplied to support.
Professional or employment information	May appear in content or communications you submit; not a standard requirement for an individual account.
Education information	May appear in stories or other content you submit; not a standard requirement for an individual account.
Inferences	Usage-derived interests or preferences used for analytics, recommendations, and campaign measurement, where those features operate.

We may also collect other personal information outside of these categories through instances where you interact with us in person, online, or by phone or mail in the context of:

• Receiving help through our customer support channels;
• Participation in customer surveys or contests; and
• Facilitation in the delivery of our Services and to respond to your inquiries.

How Do We Use and Share Your Personal Information?

If you are using an authorized agent to exercise your right to opt-out, we may deny a request if the authorized agent does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf.

Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone Else?

The recipient categories and purposes for disclosure are described in Sections 1, 3, and 4, including AI processing, hosting, payment, analytics, and advertising. A recipient's role and permitted uses depend on the service, applicable terms, and law; not every advertising recipient should be assumed to act only as our service provider.

We use information for service analysis and improvement as described in this notice. Those purposes should be distinguished from disclosures to advertising partners.

Disclosures of identifiers and activity information to advertising partners can constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or "sale" under applicable privacy laws, even when no money is paid for the information. Sections 3 and 4 describe the relevant partners and uses. Where applicable, you have the right to opt out of sale or sharing; contact help@readkidz.com to exercise that right. We do not treat the absence of a cash payment as proof that no sale or sharing occurs.

Your Rights with Respect to Your Personal Data

Right to Request Deletion of the Data – Request to Delete

You can ask for the deletion of your personal information. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will respect your request and delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law, such as (but not limited to) the exercise by another consumer of their right to free speech, our compliance requirements resulting from a legal obligation, or any processing that may be required to protect against illegal activities.

Right to Be Informed – Request to Know

Depending on the circumstances, you have a right to know:

• Whether we collect and use your personal information;
• The categories of personal information that we collect;
• The purposes for which the collected personal information is used;
• Whether we sell your personal information to third parties;

Verification Process

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require you to provide information so that we can match it with the information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g., phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.

We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for the purposes of verification. If, however, we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes. We will delete such additionally provided information as soon as we finish verifying you.

Other Privacy Rights

• You may object to the processing of your personal data.
• You may request correction of your personal data if it is incorrect or no longer relevant, or ask to restrict the processing of the data.
• You can designate an authorized agent to make a request under the CCPA on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent if they do not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with the CCPA.
• You may request to opt out of sale or sharing of your personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, where applicable. We will act on such requests within the period required by applicable law.

Updates that materially affect your rights follow the notice and timing protections in Section 12 of our Terms of Service, including its limited exceptions for legal requirements or urgent security or fraud risks. Corrections or clarifications that do not materially affect your rights may take effect on the stated date. Updating this notice does not itself authorize a new use of information where separate consent or another legal requirement applies.
